My First Thanksgiving Celebration

We celebrated with daddy's family the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was so much fun! I got to see my cousin Colette and play with her! Then later that night we all had a huge meal and then Grandma threw a surprise 65th birthday party for Grandpa! I had already gone to bed for the night but mommy and daddy told me it was a lot of fun and he was very surprised! Then on Sunday we all went to church together and then headed to another party! This time Grandpa Flack's family threw him a party!

Hike with Grandpa Flack

Daddy, Grandpa, Harley and I headed out to Oakdale Nature Reserve in Freeport for a crisp morning hike. I had a lot of fun hiking with Grandpa and Harley. Once again, we covered so much ground during the hike that I was wiped out at the end!!

Daddy & Me

Every night daddy reads me a story before bath time. This night he read me one of his favorite books, Father & Son. It was a gift from Joe & Eileen Bonnett when I was born. He has read through this a few times now and has really picked up some great advice!

Jumperoo in action!

Jackie here...I know...we are becoming "those parents." Look at my kid do this...look at him do that... I couldn't resist. He's slowly starting to get the hang of this jumperoo! I had to capture it on video!! :)

We've got a big boy!

We just got back from the doctor's office. Carter had his 2 month check up today. He did so well! He only cried for a few minutes after receiving his FOUR shots!!! Thankfully daddy went with us so he could hold Carter's hands while I sat there teary-eyed as the nurses poked him. He's such a trooper! His face was so red and he cried for a few minutes and then went right to sleep! Daddy got his flu shot at the same time so they have matching bandaids. :)

We also found out that we've got a big boy on our hands! Carter is in the 97th percentile for weight and for his height! Since being born he has doubled his birth weight and grown 5 inches! He weighed in at 14.3 lbs and was 25 inches long!

Otis and I were helping mommy get ready this morning! I love Mr. O, he's such a good cat!

Active and Attractive!

I was having such a good morning playing in only my diaper! See all of my muscles! I know...I know...I'm just too cute!

My New Toy!

Oh boy oh boy, I'm so excited to grow a few more inches so I can start bouncing in my new jumperoo!!! Mommy and daddy set it up for me the other day and let me try it out! I was such a big boy, I can hold my head up all on my own now! I'm still trying to figure out how to coordinate my hands but one of these days I'll be able to play with all of these fun toys that are on this thing!

Because I'm still a little like mommy, my legs aren't long enough to touch the ground. Daddy put a shoe box under my feet so I could try it out. I straightened my legs a few times but it is going to take some practice before I get the hang of this. A few more pounds and inches and this little contraption will be the perfect fit!

In the pictures you can see my latest war wound. I got myself right down the nose the other night! Mommy needs to do a better job of trimming my nails! She forgets that I'm busy practicing my karate moves during the middle of the night!

Train Fest 2007

My Grandpa Carter loves trains AND me. On Saturday mommy and I met Grandma and Grandpa Carter over in Milwaukee for the 2007 Train Fest. It is held at the State Fair Park and is America's LARGEST model railroad show. I've never seen Grandpa so excited!

He carried me around all day long as we gazed at all of the model railroads, train cars and all of the fun accessories. I learned all about couplers, railroad tracks, locomotives and how much fun trains can be!

I can't wait to go back next year with my little stool so I can stand up with the big kids looking at all of the trains! Maybe Grandpa will let me ride on his shoulders so I can get an even better view of everything! I sure had a fun day and boy oh boy was I tired after that fun adventure!

Auntie Amber

Mommy's good friend from high school, Amber, came up for a few days to visit me. It was so much fun meeting her! She spoiled me rotten for a few days! Mommy and Amber had such a good time that they didn't get too many pictures of all of us together but here is a good one of her giving me what I like best...FOOD!

Laundry Time

Daddy just can't sit still when he watches me so he takes me all over the house with him while he works. Last week while I was in his care I ended up taking a nap in the laundry basket while he was in the back room. I must say it was quite cozy and I stayed there for a while! Daddy had to prove to mommy that I will sleep anywhere so here is the proof!

My First Halloween!

Grandma Flack got me this little shirt to wear on my first Halloween! Mommy and I went down to her work and visited all of her friends! I was such a good boy! I slept practically the whole time! She was happy that she was finally able to "show me off" to everyone!

I was a CUTE BABY for Halloween! Pretty original costume huh?

Outdoor Adventures!

When daddy was on vacation a few weeks ago the three of us headed over to Lapham State Park for a day of hiking. It was so much fun! I actually stayed awake to look at all of the pretty fall colors. As you can see...all of that fresh air and walking around really wore me out! Daddy couldn't resist taking this picture of me laying in the back of the car. I can't help it if I was tired! :) We had a great time!

Henry Vilas Zoo Trip

Mommy & Daddy took me on my first zoo visit! We went to the Henry Vilas Zoo over in Madison. It was also my first trip to Madison! It was a day of firsts, I seem to have a lot of firsts!! :)

Even though I slept the entire time we were there I had a good time. Mommy and daddy kept telling me all about the animals that were there. I got to see a giraffe, bears, penguins, rhino's and a whole lot of other animals. Daddy said something about mommy's relatives being there. I didn't see anyone except a bunch of chimps so they must have left before my eyes opened.

During the day, I kept hearing daddy complaining about not being able to see the kitties. At first I thought that Milo & Otis might have ran away but I guess he was talking about the big cats that live at the zoo! He drove all that way to show me the big cats and they weren't out. Oh well, that's ok daddy! Next time we go to the zoo I'm sure they'll be out and I'll be awake!

First Menards Trip!

I hear Daddy and Grandpa Carter's favorite place to visit together is Menards. On Sunday daddy took me there for the first time! Mommy was tagging along on this trip and guess what...she had her camera again and made us pose for a picture. :)

The next day daddy took me to what he called a real Menards store. He said that the Janesville Menards store doesn't count and that my first official visit was up at the Johnson Creek store. Plus it was just daddy and me when we had our father/son day so it was more special. It was so much fun! I actually stayed awake to see all of the fun things that daddy bought to go into my first tool box.

Meeting Harley!

Grandpa Flack loves his doggies and over the weekend I got to see him again. This time mommy took her camera along so she could capture the moment for my baby book.

Big Jon & Little Jon

Anyone that knows my mommy and daddy know how much they love to take self portraits! Daddy was being silly one day and took some of us together under my activity gym. Aren't they fun shots? :)

My First Smile

Well...ok so this isn't technically my first smile but darn close! :) This is one of the few that mommy has been able to capture. She sure enjoys being behind that machine that flashes a lot!! I am starting to get used to that thing they call a camera and from what daddy tells me, she uses it a lot...grrreeeat!

I'm officially 7 weeks old now and I am so much more active and alert! I really enjoy the mornings like my daddy. This is the time when I really smile a lot, talk to my mommy and daddy, and do all kinds of exercises. I want to stay awake all the time so I can observe all this world has to offer!

My first smile was actually at 6 weeks but when my smile button is pushed (I hear it's called my chin) it makes me do funny things with my mouth. Sometimes these weird noises come out too!! Mommy likes it because she does the same thing with her mouth! I must be entertaining her!

Carter's First Homecoming!

Auntie Kim & Uncle Brandon came down for U Dub Dub's Homecoming. From what I hear this is an annual tradition! Daddy got me all bundled up for a day over in Whitewater. The weather was perfect for Whitewater's victorious win over UW-Oshkosh (I also heard daddy and Uncle Brandon calling the team UW-ZERO a lot through the day)!

This year parking seemed to be quite difficult from what I observed while I was in the back seat. It sounded like daddy made a new friend. After finally finding a supremo spot, our first stop was the parade where we all caught lots of candy! It was great!

After the parade we headed over to the bookstore where daddy filled my tummy with good food and everyone else shopped...did I have good timing or what?! Uncle Brandon surprised me with a super cool-looking UWW stocking cap with matching mittens! They will keep me WARM this winter! It wasn't cool enough for the mittens but mommy made sure my head was kept nice and warm.

We finished off the trip to Whitewater with ice cream at the Double Dip Deli and then headed back home. It was a GREAT day and I'm so glad that my Godparents could come to visit! I know mommy and daddy had a great time and I'm looking forward to actually making it to the GAME next year!! :)
