Fort Relay 2009...thanks to all!

We Relay for the HOPE that each day more people live to see another birthday. I can't thank you enough to all of you that contributed to our 09 Relay. Once again, it was a successful event and I surpassed my goal...THANK you to everyone! It is such an emotionally uplifting event and I encourage everyone to get involved.


I enjoyed touring around the track on the gator on Friday while we were setting up the luminaria's! :) I look so "official" haha :)


Carter really enjoyed all aspects of the actual event. He LOVED running around the track looking at all of the campsites. Although, I think his favorite part were the eating parts. :) The annual "Taste of Fort" was held at the high school a good majority of the proceeds were donated to the Relay. Carter enjoyed the yummy food...especially Ken's Big Bar.





On Friday night the Survivor's and their families had their ceremony. They made a lap together and then released balloons to honor their fight. Carter was able to release a ballon in honor of his Grandpa Flack.





The most touching moment of the Relay is the Luminaria ceremony. This year we sold over 1,000 luminaria bags that lined our track. The luminaria's honor those who survived their battle with cancer, as well as those who lost their triumphant battle. Once the sun went down and all the bags were glowing, it was such an emotional view.

Jefferson Co Fair

This past weekend mommy had a weekend to herself and went scrapbooking down to Illinois. SO, daddy and I had a weekend together! We went to the Jefferson County Fair! It was great to see all the cows, pigs, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and rabbits. Daddy and I got in trouble for trying to pet the rabbits. Dad told me they wouldn't bite that bad. He said it is more of a knibble.





We found the display of antique tractors where I got to sit on top of one.


After the tour of tractors we walked through the commercial tent and they had a HUGE sand box filled with corn! There were only three trucks in the whole corn box and I managed to walk through the corn and get all three of them! I had my fleet of trucks lined up and hauled my corn from one side of the box to the other.




Dad treated me to a Wisconsin tradition with deep fried cheese curds, but I was not a big fan. Maybe I will try them again next year. Can't wait for our next big adventure dad! Thanks for a great weekend!

4th of July Weekend-Door County

We celebrated the 4th of July this year by camping up in Door County at Peninsula State Park. This was my first camping experience and only one word described the entire weekend...AWESOME!!! Daddy and mommy packed the car up Thursday with anything and everything to keep me busy and occupied. We made sure we had all we needed to "survive" outside in the wilderness over the weekend. After our 4 hour trek "up north" we unloaded everything, set up the tent, and got a fire going. I had to help dad light the fire and scope everything out!

On Friday we took a hike to the nature center where I got to see a bear, wolf, turtle, and all kinds of other wildlife featured in the park. In the afternoon we took a hike up to the lookout tower to view the surrounding area and scenary.

Saturday we took off to the beach and swam in the lake, counted all the boats, and I helped dad build a sand castle. It was more or less me overseeing the sand castle operation and watching dad do all the work!

Last night we went to watch the Fish Creek fireworks. The fireworks started at 10:00 p.m. When I saw the first fireworks I thought they looked like bubbles. :) I was finally starting to get the word firework before dozing off for the evening. I tried so hard to watch them, but mom and dad wore me out and all I got to see were the first couple and I was asleep.

The Cousins Birthday Party!

On June 27th we headed down to The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL where we celebrated cousin Colette's 3rd birthday and Simon's 1st birthday. It was a great day of playing games (pin the stinger on the bee), playing in the children's garden, and of course eating cupcakes!!! Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Dan did a great job with everything!
