Finally...

My sandbox is full! When we got home from the truck exhibit last Saturday my sandbox was filled! The sand fairy came and filled it full for me (thanks to the local optimist club!). I was FINALLY able to enjoy the turtle that mommy found for me last year at a local sale...not bad for $5 huh? :)

 

 

 

 

World of Trucks

Last Saturday our park and rec department sponsored "World of Trucks." It was a great opportunity for the kiddos to get out and see the trucks that are in their neighborhood. The highlight of the day was pulling the airhorn in the garbage truck (mommy tested it out first to make sure it was "kid friendly," haha)! Trash day is the best day of the week at our house because we get to watch the super cool trucks come into our neighborhood and take it all away.

 

 

 

 

Zoo Trip

Last Friday my school headed over to the Madison Zoo. As always, we have a blast when we visit the zoo! I was really excited since the train was open this time! Mommy was so proud of me, I waited in line for 15 minutes to ride the train! We met up at the park just outside of the zoo for lunch and playtime with my friends. It was a great day we all had a blast!

What a personality!

It's so hard to believe that our little girl is already six weeks old! I wish I could slow down time just a little. Lucy is such a blessing to our family. She started smiling at 4 weeks. At first it was only for daddy - he just has a magic touch that made her light up! Now she smiles at anyone who talks to her. Her whole face just lights up when she shows you that big toothless grin! It just melts our hearts every time we see it! As her big brother says..."she's adorable!" :) Indeed we are blessed!!

 

 

 

 

My dirty laundry...

Mommy made the mistake of leaving the hamper at the top of the stairs the other night. I took it all over the kitchen and living room. This is the final "resting place" of the hamper. Mommy helped me in and I sat here while she got dinner ready. The hamper was nice and cozy until I got too adventurous and fell out...don't ask. :)

 

 

 

Picture Time...again

Lucy is quickly learning that to fit into this family you need to enjoy getting your picture taken...a lot! Last night we headed back to get more pictures again. This time Jonathan was home so all of us could do a family portrait. A very successful photo shoot...I must say! Lucy was alert and Carter was on his best behavior! We were done in 10 minutes! Pros I tell ya! :)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mommy's out there! It turned out to be a pretty nice day up here after the wintery weather we had yesterday! We started off the morning with chocolate chippy pancakes and then after Lucy's nap we gave mommy her gift. I colored a picture for her and mommy got another gazing ball (it's pretty cool) for the front yard since her last one broke. No Mother's Day brunches for this gang...mommy requested pizza and ice cream tonight for dinner! I knew she was the best for a reason! :)

 

 

 

So caring...

So many people ask me how Carter is coping with being a big brother. Words can't describe how lucky we are to have such a sweet, caring and loving little boy. He genuinely loves his little sister. Just today when he got home from school the first thing he asked was, "where is Lucy?" When I told him she was sleeping he immediately asked when she was going to wake up. Carter has been such a big helper - tossing away diapers, grabbing burb cloths, asking if he can hold her, and most recently asking if Lucy needs her "nuk," and always asks if he can get her (from her crib). Today after one of Lucy's naps Carter heard her starting to fuss and immediately came up to me and told me that we needed to check on Lucy. So down the hall he goes, opens up her door and climbs up on her crib to make sure she is ok.

My Day at the Fire Department!

All through the month of May my school will be going on field trips! Today was the first trip to the Fire Department! Daddy was one of the volunteers! Everything was SO cool - I LOVED looking at all of the trucks and hearing the Chief tell us all about fighting fires!

Lucy's One Month Pictures

Lucy and I headed out today for her one month pictures. She didn't do too bad!! She was awake and alert the entire time...she sacked out once the camera turned off! Here are a few of our favorites. The pink dress is 30 years old...yup, it was the dress that I wore for my one month picture. Grandma saved it all this time! :)
